Who We Are
AMDALAH AFRICA FOUNDATION (AMDAF) is a not for-profit and non-political Organisation. We are a registered charity in the Republic of Ireland.
Registered with the Registered Charity No. 20205848 | Company No 652991. established to promote social inclusion, integration, recognition, justice and support for women of African descent and their families.
AMDAF is passionate about inspiring understanding on issues affecting women of African descent such as inclusion, domestic violence, economic empowerment, personal development, mental health, gender equality and rights; through our educational programmes.
We adopt Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals, by promoting all actions to eliminate root causes of discriminations against women of African descent in public and private spheres – to achieve gender equality and empower them.
We could not continue to provide these vital services without the on-going and generous support of our members and supporting partners.
Our Vision
AMDAF envisions a future where women of African descent enjoy equal opportunity and are not judged based on their race.
Our vision is that women of African descent are recognised, respected and treated justly.
Our Mission
We aim to contribute to the protection and promotion of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of women of African descent and their families in Galway and across Ireland.
We also aim to serve as advocate of their rights, to promote their capacities and driving force of social change through collaborations, public educational campaigns, and awareness-raising programmes.

Objectives
i. Encourage women of African descent to tell and own their stories- what their experience is, what they have survived and what they have learned; to change the biased narrative surrounding their identities.
ii. Promote protection of the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of women of African descent.
iii. Promote activities that enhance inclusion, recognition, justice, development and respect of women of African descent.
iv. Inspire understanding issues affecting women of African descent and their families. such as domestic violence, economic empowerment, personal development, mental health, gender equality and rights.
v. Adopt Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals, by promoting all actions to eliminate root causes of discriminations against women of African descent in public and private spheres – to achieve gender equality and empowerment.
